The Johnson County Museum, in partnership with The Arts Council of Johnson County, invited national suburban scholars and museum planners to discuss the benefits and shortcomings of establishing a national museum and policy institute of suburbia in Johnson County. Why study and document suburbia? Why locate a national museum & policy institute of suburbia in Johnson County? What should a national museum on suburbia collect? This symposium, held on March 4, 2008, answers many of these questions, and raised more for the museum and its community to contemplate.
Moderator William H. Hudnut III, Senior Fellow, Urban Land Institute, and former mayor of Indianapolis 1976-1991.
