Community Education Fund

collection imageEstablished to support the operational costs of the Museum's education programs and to provide scholarships for Title 1 schools to participate in the Museum's education programs at reduced costs, gifts are accepted to this Fund from private individuals, businesses, foundations and other non-profit organizations. Title I, a provision of the federal No Child Left Behind Act, allocates federal dollars to aid schools in helping at-risk children achieve academic success. To make a contribution to the Fund, contact the Museum.

2009-2010 will be the inaugural school year for distributing Title I scholarships. Qualifying schools will be eligible to attend one museum program of their choice for half the cost. To apply for a scholarship, contact the Museum's Education Curator.

By contributing to the Johnson County Museum Endowment Fund, you will help:

  • Secure a permanent source of funding for the operational needs of the Museum.
  • Ensure that meaningful conversations about how suburban places can remain vibrant communities where people want to live, work and invest.
  • Allow the Museum to provide cutting-edge, innovative programs and exhibitions.
  • Allow staff to invest in and refine best practices in the museum and visitor hospitality realms.
  • Ensure the Museum's permanent collection is cared for, preserved, and managed according to professionally accepted standards adopted by the American Association of Museums.
  • Ensure the stories of Johnson County's rich history are shared with residents of our communities and connect our stories with the larger stories of America's suburban places.

The Board of Trustees for the Johnson County Museum Foundation established the Endowment Fund to help ensure the county's history is collected, preserved and shared with future generations. Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. To notify the Museum of your intent to name the Museum in your estate, please click on this link, complete the form and return it to the Museum. For more information about the Endowment Fund, please contact the Museum.
